Shakib becomes No. 1 Test all-rounder and ODI all-rounder

Shakib Al Hasan, the former Bangladesh ex-captain, No. 1 Test all rounder in the latest ICC rankings following his outstanding performance against Pakistan in Mirpur (Bangladesh). Shakib's rise ended Jacques Kallis' lengthy hold on the position.
Shakib became the first Bangladesh player to score a hundred and take five wickets in an innings during a Test, and his 144 and 6 for 82 won him the Man-of-the-Match award. The century was Shakib's second in Tests and it lifted his average to 34.68. He averages 31.36 with the ball and has 96 Test wickets.
Shakib has also improved his batting and bowling rankings.

Kallis, who made 31 and went wicketless in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Centurion, was the No. 1 allrounder for 3696 days and will have the chance to reclaim the top position during the final two matches of that series in Durban and Cape Town.
The other Bangladesh batsmen to improve their rankings include captain Mushfiqur Rahim (up by one to 44th), Shahriar Nafees (up by eight to 61st) and Nasir Hossain (up by 32 to 96th).
The former Bangladesh skipper became the top all-rounder after Reliance International Cricket Council Rankings updated data on Thursday, giving Shakib 404 points. He pushed South African allrounder Jacques Kallis to second on 397 points.

He also climbed to the top of the ICC ODI allrounder rankings after his impressive performances in the ODI series against the West Indies.
Shakib was on the top of the ICC ODI all-rounder ranking between January 2009 and April 2011. Australia's Shane Watson was the top-ranked ODI all-rounder for seven months. He piped Shakib into No.1 position in the all-rounders' rankings after the Test series against Bangladesh.
